About Us

Pull up a stool at Cobleskill Elks Lodge and you'll understand within five minutes why members keep coming back. Reviewers consistently reach for the same reference: it feels exactly like the bar from Cheers, a place where the person beside you already knows your order and asks about your kids. That warmth isn't accidental. It's the product of a membership that genuinely looks out for one another and for the broader Cobleskill, NY community.

The Lodge sits on Legion Drive, a fitting address for an organization built on service and sacrifice. Members of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks have been championing veterans, funding youth programs, and feeding neighbors long before "community impact" became a marketing phrase. Every dollar raised at the bar or the dining room circles back into scholarships, hospital visits, and local causes that rarely make headlines but always make a difference.

Traveling Elks know they're welcome here too. The Lodge has opened its doors to RV-parking members passing through the region, extending the national brotherhood right to the edge of the parking lot. From a quick overnight stop to a decades-long membership, the door on Legion Drive is almost always open.

What We Offer

Friday fish fry is the signature event that draws members and guests alike every week. Fresh, prompt, and served by friendly faces who greet you at the door and walk you straight through the takeout process, it's the kind of meal that turns first-timers into regulars. The dining room also hosts a full bar where members gather after work, after meetings, and after life gets complicated.

Beyond the table, the Lodge runs an active calendar of charitable programs: veterans outreach, youth scholarship funds, drug-awareness initiatives, and community fundraisers that put real money into Schoharie County. Meeting rooms are available for Lodge events and member functions, and the space has hosted everything from holiday parties to civic gatherings.

For traveling Elks holding a valid membership card, the Cobleskill Lodge extends reciprocal privileges including bar access and, when arrangements are made in advance, RV overnight parking on the grounds. Call ahead, introduce yourself, and you'll find the same hospitality here that you'd find at your home Lodge.

"Remember the TV show Cheers? The lyrics went something like this, "Where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came."? This is exactly the feeling when you come here. Everyone is so warm and friendly. We came as strangers, and we left as friends. For dinner on this Friday night, I had the New York Strip Steak that was cooked to perfection, and my wife had fish. Everything was so good. Hands down, this is the best steak I've had in years. Lance Rotolo, the ER, was most welcoming when we arrived. This Lodge does a lot for this community. If you are local, and you want to get involved in helping your community, joining this Lodge would be an excellent place to start."

"Elks Lodge advertises fish fry dinners on Fridays . I was greeted by members of the Elks and immediately showed where and how to place my takeout order. Friendly and prompt service. The food was fresh and homemade...nothing frozen about that!! The coleslaw side was a delicious mix of shaved carrots, both purple and green cabbage and to my surprise (as I was expecting a dinner roll in the styrofoam box) was a large yummy piece of carrot spice cake complete with frosting!!! Will revisit soon."

"Thank you so much for allowing me to park in my RV overnight while visiting other Elk member friends a town over. I was hoping to get in last night to have a glass of wine and meet fellow Elks, but fell asleep on my couch after a full day of leaf peeping. Is so beautiful! Anyway, I'm hoping to get to Howe caverns, maybe Monday? If you're open, I would love to come in and say hello! Thank you again for being so kind, I truly appreciate all of you! Elks forever!"

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
